Becoming More like Christ, Leading others to Christ

Outreach Ministries

Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Romans 12:13 NIV

Bread:

Seven years ago in response to frequent requests for food and assistance from our neighbors we decided to give away bread to those in need. We found a commercial bread distributor who was willing to give the bread which was returned from local stores.   Thus began our weekly Bread Ministry. Every Saturday at 11:00 we give away loaves of bread, hamburger and hotdog rolls, bagels, English muffins, etc.  About four years ago we began our association with Panera Bakery. Three nights a week at closing we pick up fresh baked loaves of bread, bagels, cookies and pastries. The Panera product is wrapped by a team of volunteers in preparation for distribution on Saturday and Sundays. Currently we are pleased to bless 35 to 40 families with the gift of bread.

Clothes:

The Lamb House contacted us with a proposal to start a free clothes ministry to run in conjunction with our existing bread ministry. Realizing the need in our community we started with a clothes give away on one Saturday each month. Now due to the success of this ministry and the increasing need we now hold our “Clothes Closet” on the first and third Saturdays each month and we average 35 customers for each “Clothes Closet”.

Produce:

Zion Grace believes that the church should play a vital role in feeding the spiritual mind as well as the body of the local community. To assist with this, we have partnered with a local grocer to collect all types of produce daily.  This ministry has grown from picking up once a week to seven days a week.  Distribution has gone from one day a week to three days.
